#QOTW: Can I enable Single Sign-On for only Jira Service Desk customers?

Yes it's possible. Configuring the #SingleSignOn redirection for Jira Service Desk Portal to customers only.

To activate the customer portal Single Sign-On redirection, you have to enable the Redirect SD Customer Portal checkbox in the SAML SSO configuration in the redirection page. With the other option Enable SSO Redirect unchecked, non-portal users/ customers won't be redirect to the IdP via SSO.

You can follow the steps below:

  • Navigate to the SAML Single Sign On configuration page, then go to Redirection (on the middle panel)

  • Make sure that Enable SSO Redirect is unchecked

  • Mark the checkbox next to Redirect SD Customer Portal

  • Scroll down to reach Logout Redirection (in the Logout section) and select Redirect only SSO users after logout

  • Go to the top of the page and Save Setting
